Degree-zero Hom-complex classes in the homotopy category #
Mathlib identifies CohomologyClass K L 0 with morphisms from K to L⟦0⟧
in the homotopy category. Composing with the canonical CategoryTheory.shiftFunctorZero
isomorphism gives an additive equivalence with morphisms from K to L.
On representatives it sends a cocycle z to the homotopy class of
Cocycle.homOf z.
This neutral comparison uses no module localization or derived-category API. The downstream K-projective and K-injective derived comparisons reuse this equivalence before applying localization.
Main definitions #
CochainComplex.HomComplex.cohomologyClassHomotopyAddEquivis the neutral additive comparison with homotopy-category morphisms.
Main results #
CochainComplex.HomComplex.cohomologyClassHomotopyAddEquiv_mkidentifies the image of a cocycle class with the homotopy class of its chain map.
Implementation notes #
The zero-shift isomorphism normalizes Mathlib's shifted Hom-complex cohomology comparison before any derived localization is applied.

Instances For
The class of a degree-zero cocycle corresponds to the homotopy class of its associated chain map.
